In this poignant story, Adrian Cattrel initially views Jake Riley as a conceited road crew worker with only his striking blue eyes to commend him. However, as their relationship deepens, she falls for him, and they marry. Tragedy strikes on their way home from a family dinner, leading to Adrian’s death. As she transitions between worlds, Adrian worries about Jake’s ability to cope with her loss, constrained by his upbringing to hide his emotions. With the help of an unexpected guardian angel, Adrian must find a way to help Jake break free from his father's expectations and find healing.
Meet the Author
I was born in West Allis, Wisconsin, and my family moved up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan when I was about two and a half years old. I fell in love with writing in the fifth grade. Something about Murder She Wrote inspired me to start writing novels, and I haven't quit since. I attended the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay for two and a half years, where I majored in English-Creative Writing with a minor in Communications. I returned home to the UP where I still live. I excelled at several different full-time positions after college, everything ranging from grocery store clerk, motel night auditor, housekeeping, banking, and am now working at Kwik Trip. All of which helped enhance my writing. I am also a die hard Green Bay Packer fan, and am currently obsessed with the Outlander series of books.

This is a sequel to The Last Photograph where Adrian and Kevin are still their otherworldly guardians, but now they’re going up against something far worse than The Darkness: Cassie’s parents.

If you like shows such as Drop Dead Diva or Ghost Whisperer, you’ll love this book. A look into the
other world. What do our loved ones think of us once they pass? What do they hope for us? How do
they want us to go on?
This book is an easy read, great for summer break. I hope Anne writes another book soon.

This new author's first novel is a must read. She writes in a way that makes you feel as if you
personally know the characters, which makes it impossible to put down. From the first to the last
page, it will touch your heart and leave you wanting more! Absolutely cannot wait for the next book!

This was an amazing book. Loved her writing style & it kept me interested, didn’t want to put it
down. I had to see how it ended, as much as I didn’t want it to! :) would recommend and can’t wait
for more from her!!! Not to mention it’s super cool she’s from the same town as me :)
